Common questions about this kit
A real Yixing teapot — worth it?
If you drink one type of tea daily for years, yes — the unglazed clay seasons and subtly improves that one tea. Dedicated: one tea per pot, forever.
A cast iron kettle?
It holds heat beautifully and pours with control. Heavy, and you must dry it to prevent rust. For a ceremony setup, it is the centerpiece.
Why a tea pet?
A small clay figure you feed the rinse water — a bit of ritual whimsy that also uses the waste water. Optional, but it is part of the tradition.
One pot per tea?
Yes for unglazed Yixing — the clay absorbs and complements one tea's oils. Use a glazed gaiwan if you want to brew many teas in one vessel.
User Reviews
Tea ceremony and my cocktail bar share the one-tool-per-purpose ritual — one Yixing per tea, like one jigger per pour. Agreed.
