FAQ
Common questions about this kit
Sand socks — necessary?
On hot sand, yes. They protect soles from burns and stop the cuts that keep you out for a week. Barefoot only when sand is cool.
Sand ball vs indoor ball?
A sand ball — slightly lighter, rougher texture for sandy grip, and stitched to take water. An indoor ball gets slick and heavy in sand and spray.
Polarized sunglasses on the beach?
Yes — glare off sand and water is brutal. Polarization cuts it so you can track the ball at the top of its arc.
How much water?
More than you think — beach volleyball in sun is brutal cardio. A hydration pack or a gallon cooler is the minimum for a session.

Beach volleyball and surf share the sand-and-sun rules — sand socks and polarized glasses are the same kit I carry.
