Skis with bindings included?
Often, yes — many come mounted. If not, bindings must be mounted and set to your boot sole and weight by a shop. Do not self-install.
Boots — how should they fit?
Snug, almost uncomfortable. Your toes brush the front standing straight and pull back when you flex. A bootfitter is worth every dollar.
Helmet or beanie?
Helmet, always. It also keeps your head warm and your goggles up. No excuses.
One jacket for any weather?
An insulated shell with pit zips plus a merino base layer covers most resort days. Add a mid-layer for the coldest.
