Paint Decontamination & Coating Kit

It pulls the contaminants embedded in the paint that washing cannot — rail dust, industrial fallout, tree sap — leaving the paint glassy smooth. You feel the difference with the back of your hand (a baggie helps). Clay before any polish or coating; a contaminated surface ruins both. It is the decontamination step that separates "washed" from "detailed."

It oscillates and rotates (not just spins), so it cannot burn through the paint the way a rotary can — safe for a home detailer. With compound (to remove the swirls and scratches) and polish (to refine the gloss), it corrects years of washing damage. The DA polisher is the paint-correction tool; the result is a swirl-free mirror.

A liquid polymer that bonds to the paint, forming a hard, hydrophobic layer that beads water, resists contaminants, and lasts 2-5 years (vs. wax's weeks). It is applied to perfectly prepped, decontaminated, corrected paint — the coating locks in whatever is underneath, so the prep is the whole job. Once coated, washing is easier and the gloss lasts.

A consumer-grade ceramic coating, 2-3 years; a professional-grade, 5+; wax and sealant, weeks to months. The coating's durability depends on the prep and the maintenance (proper washing, no abrasives, top-up sprays). Nothing is truly "permanent," but a coated car maintained correctly looks new for years where a waxed car would have faded.
