FAQ

Common questions about this kit

Sub-250g drone — why?

Under 250g, most countries (US, UK, much of the EU) require no registration for recreational flight. It is the easiest legal on-ramp to flying a camera.

ND filters on a drone?

Yes — they cut light so you can hold a cinematic 2x frame-rate shutter in bright sun, smoothing the motion. The difference between drone video and drone film.

How many batteries?

Three total (one in the drone, two spares). Each flies about 25 to 30 minutes; three is a real session without waiting on a charge.

Part 107 — when?

If you fly for any commercial purpose (paid photos, real estate, monetized YouTube), you need it in the US. Recreational only, you do not. Know the rule before you sell the shot.

Aerial starter and my stargazing kit share the fly/legal-and-checklist religion — sub-250g is the no-registration on-ramp. ND filters are the pro detail.

Aerial starter is my travel photo kit in the sky — sub-250g-for-legal and ND-filters-for-shutter are the same calls I make on the ground.
