Pins shaped to fool a picker — spool pins (mushroom) set falsely and then "counter-rotate" the plug; serrated pins click at multiple false sets. They turn a 5-second open into a minute or more of careful feedback-reading. Real-world high-security locks use them; the sport ranks you on them.

The locksport community's skill ladder — white, yellow, green, blue, purple, brown, black — earned by opening graded locks at an event or on video.
