Common questions about this kit
PoE access points over mesh?
For a permanent home, yes — wired PoE access points in the ceiling are faster, more reliable, and centrally powered than any mesh. The pro move.
In-ceiling access points?
Yes — one per floor, centrally located, gives even coverage mesh cannot match. They pull power from the PoE switch, so one cable each, no outlets needed.
Multi-gig router?
If you have internet above 1 Gbps or move big files internally, yes — a 2.5 or 10 Gbps router and switch remove the gigabit ceiling. Otherwise, gigabit is plenty.
Why a UPS on the network?
So a power blip does not drop every camera, access point, and smart thing for 10 minutes while gear reboots. A small UPS keeps the backbone up.
User Reviews
Wired smart network and my security system share the PoE-and-UPS backbone religion — in-ceiling APs over mesh is the permanent-home pro move. Agreed.
