How do LED props make patterns?
Programmable LED hoops and poi store image sequences that map to the spin — as the prop moves, the LEDs draw a picture in the air. Free software lets you design your own. The visual is stunning and the safety profile is just batteries.
What does fire demand?
A spotter with a wet towel (duvetyne), a fuel dump far from the spin area, no loose clothing or hair, a clear space, and a performer who knows the prop cold before it is lit. One mistake and it is a burn. Fire is for the trained, not the curious.
What fuel for fire poi?
White gas (camp fuel) or a white-gas/lamp-oil blend — clean burning, bright, and the standard for fire performers. Never gasoline (too volatile) or alcohol (invisible flame). Fuel up, spin off the excess, light, spin, and dunk to extinguish. Safety first, art second.
