Flow arts are meditation in motion, and they start with one prop learned slow. A taped adult hula hoop for the waist and off-body moves, a pair of soft practice poi for the hand patterns, and a speaker for the playlist that sets the tempo. Learn the trick standing still, then let the music move it. The flow state is the reward.

FAQ
Common questions about this kit
Hoop or poi first?
Whichever calls to you. The hoop is more forgiving (you can catch it) and builds core and off-body flow; poi are hand-driven patterns that build rhythm and ambidexterity. Many flow artists do both. Start with one prop, learn ten moves, then add the second.
What size hoop for an adult?
A 38 to 42-inch diameter, 3/4-inch tubing — bigger and heavier than a toy hoop, which makes on-body moves slower and easier to learn. As you progress you drop to smaller, lighter hoops for faster off-body work.
Why soft practice poi?
Beginners hit themselves constantly while learning — soft (fabric or foam) poi sting less and build confidence to swing full speed. Once your planes are clean, you can graduate to LED or fire poi. Soft poi are the safe training wheels.
Do I need a speaker?
Music is half the practice — it sets the tempo and the flow. A portable Bluetooth speaker, a playlist that builds in energy, and you flow to the beat. The prop is the tool; the music is the teacher that carries you into the flow state.
User Reviews
Flow arts and my morning practice share the meditation-in-motion gospel — learn the trick slow, then let the breath (or the beat) carry it. The flow state is the same stillness with movement, agreed.
