Common questions about this kit
Alloy or wood bat?
Alloy for rec leagues (durable, hot out of the wrapper, no break-in); wood for the purists and wood-bat leagues. Composite is for travel ball and costs more.
Drop weight?
The drop is length minus weight. A -5 (lighter) for younger and contact hitters, -3 for high school and up (heavier, more power). Match the league rule.
Molded or metal cleats?
Molded for rec and multi-use fields (legal everywhere); metal for grass-only and better grip, banned on many turf fields. Check your field.
How to break in a glove?
Slowly — play catch daily, use glove oil sparingly, and a ball plus rubber band overnight. A microwave or oven wrecks the leather.
User Reviews
Recreational baseball and my basketball agree on the cleat rule — molded for multi-use, match the field. The drop-weight explainer is right.
