Common questions about this kit
Soft-sided luggage?
Yes — cabins are tiny and storage is under the bed; soft bags flatten and stow where hard shells do not. Carry-on plus one soft checked is the standard cruise combo.
Power strip — allowed?
Most lines allow a power strip (no surge protector, for charging multiple devices) since cabins have few outlets. Check your line's rules; the wrong one is confiscated at boarding.
Motion-sickness remedy?
Yes — even skeptics can get seasick on the first day. Patches, bands, or non-drowsy meds; have them before you sail, not at the overpriced ship shop.
Shore-excursion daypack?
Yes — a small pack for port days: water, sunscreen, documents, cash. Leave the big bag on the ship; the daypack is what you carry in port.
User Reviews
First cruise kit and my long-haul luxury travel share the soft-bags-and-power-strip gospel — motion-sickness remedy before you sail, not at the ship shop. Shore daypack over the big bag, agreed.
