FAQ

Common questions about this kit

Neutral shoes to start?

Yes. Neutral, flat-soled shoes are comfortable all-session and let you learn footwork. Down-turned aggressive shoes hurt and are for advanced overhangs.

Rent or buy first?

Rent shoes and harness for the first few sessions to confirm you love it. Once you are going weekly, buy your own — fit matters more than anything in climbing.

Do I need a brush?

Yes — brushed-off holds grip far better. A boar-hair brush cleans chalk and rubber off the plastic without polishing it.

How should the harness fit?

Snug at the waist, sitting on your hip bones. Too loose and you slip; too tight and you cannot breathe. Try it on with the leg loops buckled.
